Reverse Role Play

Our correspondent writes ...

For the adventure of a lifetime, try this:

  1. Go to Pakistan, Afghanistan or Iraq illegally. Don't worry about their immigration quotas, visas, international law, or any of that nonsense.
  2. Once there, demand that the local government provides free medical care for you and your entire family.
  3. Demand bi-lingual nurses and doctors.
  4. Demand free multi-lingual local government forms, bulletins, etc.
  5. Procreate abundantly.
  6. Deflect any criticism of this allegedly irresponsible reproductive behaviour by saying, 'It is a cultural thing; you wouldn't understand'.
  7. Keep your British identity strong. Fly your Union flag from your rooftop, or display it proudly in your front window, or on your car bumper.
  8. Speak only English at home and in public, and insist that your children do likewise.
  9. Demand classes on English culture within the Muslim school curriculum.
  10. Demand that your illegally adopted country gives you a full driver licence and national insurance number (or its equivalent).
  11. Such benefits will afford other legal rights and will go far to legitimise your unauthorised illegal presence in Pakistan, Afghanistan or Iraq.
  12. Drive around without an MOT, tax or insurance and ignore local traffic laws.
  13. Insist that the local law enforcement agencies teach English to all their officers.
  14. Organise protest marches against your host country, inciting violence against non-Brits, non-Christians, and the government that let you in.

Good luck if you try it! You'll soon be dead.

It would never happen in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq or any other country in the world for that matter. It could only happen right here in the UK because we are run by soft, politically-correct politicians who are too scared to 'offend' anyone.

Editorial Comment:

Of course, it's not entirely true that our political masters are too scared to offend anyone. They have no qualms about offending law-abiding indigenous British people and they demonstrate it all the time.

Visitors' Comments

David, London writes:

The article is correct and true to word. I applaud your clarity in this matter. Time for change, put the good people back in the house of justice and only then will justice ever be done.

Aliya, London writes:

You forgot to mention that the wealth Britain has gained also comes through the immigrants. Britain has collected the world's most educated and clever people in this country to make it what it is today. Also most of the immigrants work extremely hard to earn what they have today.

The British government is wrong when it comes to handing out benefits not only to immigrants but to anyone without proper checks. It's really sad to sit there writing such comments. All the facilities provided to the immigrants are never demanded by them, they were given to them - they were made to use all these facilities. The immigrants coming to this country are also human beings just like anyone else. Everyone loves their home no matter how bad it is. Don't be jealous of what they have, they deserve it after so much hard work.

Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq were all once peaceful homes to millions. They are used by the west for domestic purposes if not for oil. It's easy to joke about it or write such comments about them but, after killing millions, if Britain houses a few 100s or 1000s, the justice is not done.

Editorial Comment:

I do not believe our original correspondent was decrying any of the educated and hard-working immigrants who have contributed positively to the wealth of this country over the years; rather those more recent arrivals who have contributed nothing and never had any intention of doing so. And there are plenty who fall into this category

Mark Daly, West Bromwich writes:

You can't beat a bit of good sarcasm, so well done. You make your point well, though the article does seem a little racist. Like most people, you may be unaware of something: The reason this country 'likes' immigration is because of the need to pay pensioners. Pensions are paid from currently contributing tax payers so we need enough of them to cover the bill. Without immigrants, we couldn't afford to pay the pensions bill.

Many of those immigrants won't be around to collect a pension themselves. I don't think Jobcentre Plus made a mistake when they handed out National Insurance numbers to all and sundry - it was OK by them - and the government. When was the last time you heard a politician express any real concern about immigration? There's no point, because it is necessary in order to balance the books, so no good will come of going on about it.

That's what I've heard, anyway.

Editorial Comment:

I don't think anyone has too much of a problem with immigrants who come here and work so long as they are not taking jobs away from British workers. The problems arise when they come here with no intention of working. Those in this category contribute nothing to the economy or to the pension pots.

Salva Mora of Hull writes:

You, the editor of this website are so naive and very anti-immigrants.

What do you mean by "I don't think anyone has too much of a problem with immigrants who come here and work so long as they are not taking jobs away from British workers"? How are they exactly taking away jobs from British workers then? Anyone living in this country now knows fully well that any company here would employ a serious-minded British citizen before any other foreigner. What? You don't want the immigrants to work? And then you accuse them of not wanting to work? What are you really on about? You are contradicting yourself right there.

Many of you are horrible racists hiding under the cloak of "love of country" and the so called "British jobs for British workers" nonsense. I'm a holder of a Masters degree and even before we completed the studies, most of my British fellow students already have jobs. But I'm still struggling just to get an interview because of my foreign name and I can say the same for all of the other foreign students in my year. So what are you on about?

I'm married to a British person myself and now even my patner is begining to realise how very racist and unfriendly this country is becoming. When we visit to my country, she is waited on hands and foot, treated very hospitably like a queen. But when we are here, people look at me with daggers in their eyes and there's this air of hatred for foreigners all around the place. She can't help noticing the difference.

Its crazy how people like you who run a website like this help fan this xenophobia. The irony is that over a million British people live in Spain alone and most of them don't even speak spanish. Countries like New Zeeland, Australia, Canada, New Guinea (Huge countries) are populated by British people. Even the USA. Even in many other countries of the world, middle East, Africa, Asia, the Americas, British people live in large numbers and they live very well. Yet the foreigners in this country won't be left alone to live their lives in peace.

Enough of this foreigners this, foreigners that rubbish. Only people with miserable lives talk racist nonsense.

Salva Mora writes again two days later:

I wrote a comment on this page a few days ago and I've not seen it published. I don't suppose you need that many days to get it published but I suppose it will never get published though because I know how stuff like this works. Truth hurts and for a website like this that wipes up public hysteria and xenophobia out of lies and ignorance, its anathema to the business model.

Anyhow, your job of promoting racial hatred and xenophobia in the UK will fail. You can bamboozle some people some time but you can't bamboozle every one. Your campaign is outdated and stale. The Nazis gave it a right good go and they failed. Learn from history.

Editorial Comment:

If trying to protect the standards of my country of birth against the efforts of immigrants to change them makes me a racist, then it merely shows that people with narrow views, like yourself, are incapable of understanding the views of the vast majority of British people.

You presumably came to our country to study at Hull University but why should you think that automatically entitles you to a job here? If you now have a Masters degree, why not take it back to your own country, with your wife, as it clearly is a better country than ours, according to you. There's no point staying here if you dislike the people so much.

And Mr Mora writes again:

Yes there you go again. You have just recited the mantra of xenophobes "Go back to your country"

How did I know you will spit that out so soon? Every time one tries to talk some sense into xenophobes like you, like a cornered scuttle fish, they take the cowardly way out.

You hear that mantra again and again "go back to your country" and always from the same kind of people with the same kind of mindset.

You wrote "people with narrow views, like yourself, are are incapable of understanding the views of the vast majority of British people. "

How very insulting to the British people to insinuate that majority of them are xenophobes like you. The thing is its people like you that shout the loudest. Many of you don't understand the difference between patriotism and xenophobic nationalism.

Why shouldn't I work here when thousands of British people work and live fat in my own country of birth? People like you who shout with foolish nationalism have no idea what goes on outside the shores of this country.

I have every right to live here if I so desire because I know what goes on in my own country of birth.

If all the foreigners you hate in this country should go back to their countries and ask all the British people in their countries to come back to Britain, this country will be so congested you would run out of living space.

Before you go on running your mouth about people like me, you need to travel out and see how your fellow country people are living it big in other countries and in large numbers too.

For your information I am married to a Brit like you and I have children who are British like you. This is my country too and I don't hate the British people. I just can't stand people like YOU who live and can't let live.

Editorial Comment:

You have your opinion ... I have mine. Mine is shared by everyone I talk to; yours is not. But at least we still have the right to free speech and I've given you the chance to air your feelings even though they oppose mine. Would you be allowed the same freedoms in your own country? I suspect not.

Victor Skaggs of Faywood, New Mexico, USA writes:

I have never been in the UK, but my perception as a Yank is that your problem is largely with Muslims. They are holding rallies demanding the destruction of Western society and making all manner of religiously-based demands on your country. This holds for France and other European nations as well. I once lived in Spain and am troubled to see Europe going down this path.

I'm not anti-immigrant. I like the immigrants we have, mostly Mexicans, and I have no problem with Hindus or Jamaicans, etc., who are in your country, but I perceive the Muslims as a fifth column and a real danger to your freedom and culture. Fortunately SO FAR the USA has been less spineless in acceding to their demands, but we shall see...

Editorial Comment:

Indeed, the Muslims you describe are a problem and our governement do nothing about it. Yet when our own people do similar things the government - via its police foot soldiers - come down on them like a ton of bricks.

But the real problem is immigration as a whole - whether it's peoples from Muslim countries or the rest of the EU. At the end of the day this is a small country incapable of providing a home for everyone who lands on our shores. The infrastructure is not capable of giving the necessary support and our politicians are incapable of joined-up thinking so they can never see the big picture. Or perhaps they don't want to.
