We expose the dirty deedsters
Our correspondent writes ...
In March 2008, I ordered five suits from what was then Brooks Rosenfield in Manchester. They were to be delivered in time for my wedding in June. They didn't arrive and I got a phone call the day before the wedding telling me "tough luck". Fortunately, I managed to get a last minute suit hire.
As I had earmarked the suits as gifts, I returned to the company, now rebranded as Brooks Beaumont, to utilise my credit (£1,500) that had been given as a deposit on the initial order. We reprocessed the order, paid some more cash, and waited patiently for our suits.
Excuse after excuse came (they even blamed the weather for non-delivery once) but no suits arrived. Soon afterwards, they suddenly decided that they wouldn't respond to emails, phone calls, registered letters, or (best of all) county court correspondence.
By October, I'm £2,000 out of pocket and still getting no response. The company, since rebranded again as Brooks and Co, is still
trading, the website has been updated and there has been a spate of new directors coming and going.
Myself and several others (contact details available) are still in a situation where all correspondence is being ignored, and we have not received
any goods.

Editorial comment: If the company is still trading whilst ignoring County Court correspondence, it must be time for a visit from the bailiffs. But if the rebranding has involved contrived insolvencies the solutions may not be so simple.
If anyone else has had a bad experience with Brooks (+whatever name they are now using) we would like to hear from you.
Brookes and Co / Brookes Beaumont donated a free tailored jacket as a prize at a charity auction to raise money for the Nordoff Robbins charity.
This was in October or November last year but, after winning the bid (worth approx £300), Brookes are ignoring all correspondence to redeem this offer, email, phone and what appears to be an abandoned mobile!

One of the directors of Brooks Beaumont ripped me off for £60.00 via eBay - not a lot of cash but damned annoying all the same. Avoid.
Laurence, Chippenham
What a crock of sh*t!! Justin Gill, you have had all of your suits. I admit there were some problems, all of which were explained. I dropped all the suits off with your wife at work.
As for the Nordiff Robins Charity, I know the person with whom I donated and who runs the Charity, after 5 months of trying to get a name of the winner I gave up trying, only to be emailed 9 months AFTER the event to claim it!! when I tried to arrange an appointment they were unable to come and see me for a month, and eventually got back in touch with me after I had closed my business down!! Like I said - A CROCK OF SH*T!!! Even AFTER I delivered the suits you didn't remove the CCJ. Well done you!!

Why aren't you publishing my response to this bullshit??!!! What the f*ck!!!

Editorial comment: This sounds more like a personal battle between
one supplier and one customer so we're going to call a halt as far as this website is concerned.
